Register for Clinics
Even professional tennis players have to "look up" to the Lipscomb Racquet Club. Why? Our club is located on the top of the West Parking Garage on Lipscomb University's campus.
The Lipscomb Racquet Club opened in April 2010 and houses the home courts for the Lipscomb Bison Men and Women Tennis Teams as well as the Lipscomb Academy High School and Middle School teams. In addition to collegiate competition, we believe that tennis is a great way for families to exercise together. We have beginner programs for both youth and adults, designed to teach the basics of tennis in a fun atmosphere. We also have clinics that help experience players gain that competitive edge.
Even more, if you wish to utilities your tennis skills in a different way, you can check out our Pickleball play. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America and once you play it, you'll be hooked.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, the Lipscomb Racquet Club's Adult Programs will help you improve your tennis game. Even more, we believe that fitness plays a major role in improving your tennis game.
We offer great league options as well. Here, you'll connect and compete with others who share a passion for the sport.
Clinics are an hour and a half long. If there are less than four participants, clinics will run for only one hour. Participants will be offered make-ups for weather cancellations only.
Men's and Women's Clinics:
- Men's Clinic: Working on the needs of the players up through a 4.5 NTRP player.
- Women's Beginner Clinic (Up to a 2.5): Working on getting the ball in play, developing strokes to sustain a short rally of slow pace with other players of the same ability. Learning basic positions for singles and doubles play.
- Women's Intermediate Clinic (3.0-3.5): Working on directional control, depth and power above medium paced shots. Encouraging more aggressive net play, court coverage and doubles teamwork.
- Women's Advanced Clinic (4.0-4.5): Working on dependability of shots on both forehand and backhand, with variety of lobs, overheads, approach shots and volleys to overcome impatience. Learning better shot selection and point development.
*When clinics are full at 12 players, no drop-ins will be allowed.
Adult Summer Camps:
The LRC is once again partnering with Nike and will be offering a weekend summer camp for adults. These two action-packed days will include fitness training for tennis as well as video analysis of the forehand, backhand and serve. We will cover strategy and help improve technique, so you will leave on Sunday a more confident and skilled player.
