At the Lipscomb Family Therapy Center (LFTC), our mission is to serve the mental health and relationship care needs of individuals, couples, and families in the Nashville community.
LFTC provides a comfortable and confidential therapy setting to discuss issues you may be struggling with. Seeking help at the Lipscomb Family Therapy Center shows strength and a personal commitment to becoming a healthier person.
If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment, please feel free to call us at 615.966.5300.
At LFTC, our goal is to provide private and effective therapy services that help our clients overcome a wide range of personal and relational issues. We offer individual, couple, and family therapy as well as play therapy, a therapeutic approach where clients use natural mediums of play and toys as tools to express themselves.
Therapy Services at Lipscomb Family Therapy Center
Periodically, we also offer prevention, enrichment, and psychoeducation services including marriage seminars, divorce care, and support groups.
People seek therapy because they are struggling with individual or relational issues that affect the way they feel or inhibit their ability to go about their daily lives. Over time, these issues can interfere with relationships; affect school or work; lead to changes in appetite and sleep; and create stronger feelings of anxiety, depression, or stress.
LFTC provides a comfortable and confidential setting for clients to discuss issues such as:
- Depression and mood disorders
- Test and schoolwork anxiety
- Career and work-related questions
- Feeling of self-doubt
- Eating disorders
- Spirituality issues
- Parenting issues
- Communication problems
- Sex therapy
- Divorce and related topics
- Child/adolescent issues
- Loss and grief
- Conflict resolution
LFTC is a training facility for graduate students in Lipscomb University's master of marriage and family therapy (MFT) program. LFTC therapist interns work under the supervision of Lipscomb University MFT faculty and other licensed marriage and family therapists, giving LFTC clients the advantage of working with a treatment team as opposed to an individual therapist.
A benefit of our treatment setting is that we offer high quality mental health and relationship care services at a cost that is considerably lower than other facilities. Clients who choose to pay for services using our sliding scale schedule of fees will pay anywhere between $10 and $90 for each one-hour session depending on their gross household income and family size. At the Lipscomb Family Therapy Center, we make every effort not to turn anyone away because of an inability to pay.
We are excited to offer services on a sliding scale because it allows us to serve members of the community who would not be able to otherwise afford mental health and relationship care services.
