Business, education and pharmacy programs among best grad programs in nation in latest U.S. News ranking

Lipscomb University’s Pfeffer Graduate School of Business, College of Education and College of Pharmacy have been recognized as offering some of the best graduate programs in the nation.

In the 2024 Best Graduate Schools released this week by U.S. News & World Report the Pfeffer School’s full-time Master of Business Administration (MBA), Professional Master of Business Administration (PMBA) programs, the College of Education’s graduate programs and the Doctorate of Pharmacy were included in their respective rankings. Each of these programs moved up in the rankings this year.

Designed for prospective students looking to advance their education post-college, the Best Graduate Schools rankings evaluate programs in a variety of disciplines. By collecting graduate school data annually, U.S. News shares in its rankings current enrollment numbers, job placement rates, faculty statistics and other essential quality indicators that help prospective students make informed decisions.

Pfeffer Graduate School of Business

Housed in Lipscomb’s College of Business, the Pfeffer Graduate School of Business moved up in the rankings this year. In the Best Business School category, the Pfeffer School is one of only three in Tennessee and one of only two Church of Christ institutions to be ranked. Lipscomb’s part time MBA was one of only six in the state to make this year’s ranking. 

The Pfeffer School is AACSB accredited, making it part of an elite group of business schools internationally with less than six percent - only 926 institutions across 60 countries - earning this prestigious accreditation. It offers master’s degree programs in accounting, business administration and health administration and graduate certificates in accounting, data analytics and entrepreneurship. Learn more here

College of Education

Lipscomb’s College of Education moved up 13 spots in the 2024 ranking. The college’s graduate program offerings include a Doctorate of Education a Ph.D. in leadership and philosophy and Education Specialist, master’s and graduate certificate degrees in a wide array of topics including Applied Behavior Analysis, accessibility and advocacy, educational leadership, English Language Learning, gifted education and advanced academics, instructional coaching, instructional practice, leading in curriculum and instruction, reading specialty, school counseling and special education.

This is the latest recognition for the College of Education, which is consistently ranked as one of the most effective educator preparation programs in the state of Tennessee and the nation. This spring, the college was recognized for the 12th consecutive year as one of the most effective teacher preparation programs in Tennessee as it earned high marks on the 2023 Teacher Preparation Report Card released by the Tennessee State Board of Education. College of Pharmacy

In the 2024 ranking, Lipscomb’s Doctorate of Pharmacy program was ranked among the top 100 programs in the country and the No. 2 private university in Tennessee. Located in the nation's health care capital, the College of Pharmacy moved up in the rankings secondary to growth in research and peer recognition. The College continues to have one of the highest residency match rates in the country. 

In addition to the Pharm.D. program, the College of Pharmacy offers a Master of Science in health care informatics, a Master of Science in pharmaceutical sciences and three dual degree offerings including our Pharm.D./MHCI, Pharm.D./MMHC , and Pharm.D./MSPS.
