Department of Psychology, Counseling & Family Science

We provide our students with a variety of opportunities to excel not only inside but also outside the classroom.

Our department strives to be a student-focused environment with faculty who are known for excellence in teaching and advising. Students are regularly engaged in internship experiences, work alongside faculty members to conduct psychological research, attend and present research at local conferences, and participate in activities of the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology or the Chi Sigma Iota National Honor Society in Counseling.

Our department has undergraduate programs in Psychology (in both traditional and online formats) and Family Science as well as a graduate program offering a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, M.S. in Psychology, and a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Our graduate programs in clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, and psychology are designed for aspiring professionals who want to become licensed counselors or therapists or pursue a terminal degree. Rooted in faith and best practices, your master's degree will equip you with the tools to serve those facing mental or relational challenges.

On-Campus Partnerships & Resources

We partner with the on-campus student Counseling Center as well as as our own Lipscomb Family Therapy Center nearby. For graduate students, we offer opportunities to be involved in the Initiative for Behavioral Health Integration and Center for Play Therapy and Expressive Arts. Learn more below.
