As the Tennessee Titans joined NFL clubs across the country in unveiling their 2020 season schedules, Lipscomb University’s George Shinn College of Entertainment & the Arts helped the team bring its lineup to life.

Thursday evening, the Titans unveiled its schedule on social media using an animated video created by students and staff from CEA Studios, Lipscomb’s unique creative production house that provides students in the George Shinn College of Entertainment & the Arts with real-world studio experience. The video ran through the dates and times of the team’s 16 anticipated matchups and was worked on by nearly 30 people within CEA Studios. The project took nine weeks to complete. “This is a great opportunity to give our students a substantial real-world experience on a project that tens of thousands of fans will see and enjoy as they are eager to see what the season will hold for the Titans this fall,” said Mike Fernandez, dean of the George Shinn College of Entertainment & the Arts. “We are thrilled to continue this partnership with the Titans and are pleased that CEA Studios is producing top-quality creative work that plays a significant role in the organization’s marketing strategy.”

“As a former Disney animator, Tom Bancroft is a great example of how our students are both taught and mentored by top professionals to prepare them for the job market," said Steve Taylor, director of the School of Theatre and Cinematic Arts. "In this case, they both learned and got paid for their work."

The Titans partnered with CEA Studios in 2019 to create animation for social media and game day content. Most notably, the partnership resulted in the Saturday Morning Cartoon series featured on the Titans’ social media accounts during the 2019 season. Tom Bancroft, director of Lipscomb’s animation program, drew the cartoons each week and recent graduate Hayley Mullins was the colorist for each.

Bancroft was the director and art director for the project as well as developed the story. Eric Stars, visiting professor of computer generated imagery, was producer/composer on the project. Taylor and his band The Perfect Foil produced the music for the video. CEA students along with several alumni comprised the rest of the production crew. Other project credits include: Voice Over:  Jimmy Hodson; Character Design: Susanna Pritchett, Ellie Lenz: Clean up and painting supervisors: Avery Lutrell, Grace Kwock; Storyboards: Susanna Pritchett, Tom Bancroft; Animation: Tom Bancroft, Susanna Pritchett, Jon Densk, Sam Abner, Olivia Hood, Natalie Martin, Brandon Davis, Madison Williams, McKenna Hood, Meredith Mallett; Backgrounds: Audrey Wagnon, Hayley Mullins, Natalie Martin; Clean Up: Hayden Luckett, Hayley Evans, Josie Clark, Sam Duong, McKenzie Chaffins, Marynia Harris, Elan Puerner; and Ink and Paint: Nathan Tinnell, Marynia Harris, Brandon Davis, Rachel Brumbelow, Hayley Evans.
