Steps To Apply:
The School of Music at Lipscomb University requires an audition for entry. You must do the following for consideration and acceptance. Acceptance to the University is required, but does not imply acceptance to the School of Music. Please read the following:
Complete and submit the university application for admission.
Complete and submit the School of Music application (in addition to the University application). Interviews are held on the specified dates found on the application and below. Please refer to our audition guidelines for the program in which you are interested.
Submit audition material and participate in a scheduled interview.
***Auditions are via video submission. The date you choose on the School of Music application will be for a virtual interview via Zoom, no additional performance will be required.***
Audition videos should be uploaded to YouTube, set to ‘public’ or ‘unlisted' so our faculty will be able to view them. Your video does not have to be professionally recorded. A good, clear cell phone video is just fine!
Please send your YouTube links to: email@example.com. After your material is reviewed by our faculty, an interview may be requested.
Every student who desires to be a music major must pass the entry-level audition in their applied area. If a student does not pass their initial audition they may enroll as a provisional music major and take elective lessons for up to one year, in an attempt to successfully pass this audition. If a student is unable to pass this audition after one year, they can no longer hold provisional status within the School of Music.
If you are interested in auditioning for the vocal group, Sanctuary, please complete this application as well.
Interview dates are as follows:
Saturday, November 6, 2021 (Zoom interview) CLOSED
Saturday, January 22, 2022 (Zoom interview) CLOSED
Saturday, February 5, 2022 (Zoom interview) CLOSED

Please be aware that acceptance and scholarship decisions will be made based on your musical performances in the videos and your interview, so put your best foot forward.
School of Music scholarships are merit-based and may be added to other scholarships, depending on the student’s overall financial aid package.
Current students who are not receiving scholarships, or who wish to apply for scholarship consideration in a different performance area, may contact the coordinator for their performance area to request an audition.
The School of Music at Lipscomb University is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music. Without an arrangement of release, member schools of NASM are not allowed to accept students on scholarship who have previously accepted scholarships from another member school.
