This fall Lipscomb Academy is hosting a FREE community celebration for neighbors and fans of all ages that will take place before each home football game this season. The festivities feature exciting musical entertainment from some of Nashville’s biggest names and a few surprise musical guests, inflatable games for kids, food vendors and more.

The fun continues FRIDAY, Nov. 1, with singer-songwriter Jac Thompson as headliner. Thompson is a singer/songwriter based in Nashville, originally from Southeast Texas. Three years ago, she moved across what felt like the whole world and began to study music at Lipscomb University. Since then, she’s graduated, jump started her career as an artist and songwriter, as well as played over 60 shows since the start of 2019. Her style is eclectic, sincere, and made up of timeless melodies and lyrics that will stick with you months after seeing her in concert. Thompson is inspired by musicians and writers like Randy Newman, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon and Dawes. She is always looking to music’s past in order to shape the way music is now. Most of all, she wants to sing songs worth singing and make you laugh along the way. Right now, she’s writing her debut record and touring across the country.

Nashville-based band, The Chaffin Brothers, comprised of Lipscomb Academy students J.P, Ryan and Cam Chaffin, will also be part of the final regular season home game festival.

Smith Athletic Complex located at the intersection of Caldwell and Lealand Lanes in the Green Hills area of Nashville, and all the excitement begins at 5 p.m. with the concert beginning at 5:15 p.m. The Nashville community is invited to attend and to bring their family and friends. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Lipscomb University is an alcohol-free, tobacco-free campus. Football seniors will be honored at 5:40 p.m. during the concert.

Following the celebration, the community is invited to stay and watch the Lipscomb Academy Mustangs in action on the football field against Battle Ground Academy.
