Lipscomb University’s College of Business has once again been ranked the top undergrad program in Tennessee and is among the top 60 in the nation by Poets&Quants for Undergrads, the leading online publication for undergraduate business education news. This is the fifth consecutive year for Lipscomb’s College of Business to be ranked nationally and the best in Tennessee.

Today the organization unveiled its 2021 Best Undergraduate Business Schools ranking, which is considered the most comprehensive assessment of undergraduate business programs. Lipscomb was ranked in the No. 56 in the nation and is the highest ranked in the state. Lipscomb is one of only of two universities in Tennessee included in the entire ranking. Last February, Lipscomb’s College of Business was named one of ten undergraduate business schools in the nation to watch in 2020 by Poets & Quants for Undergrads.

“We are honored to be continually recognized nationally as a quality business school and a leader in Tennessee,” said Ray Eldridge, dean of the College of Business at Lipscomb University. “It is an honor to be ranked with such well-respected and quality peer institutions. This particular ranking is meaningful as it is a data-driven, comprehensive review of undergraduate programs across the country. It is affirmation of the hard work of the entire College of Business team as well as those who have gone before us in building a quality program that is helping our students achieve their career and life goals.”

Also included on the list were the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, New York University Stern School of Business, Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University and Scheller College of Business at Georgia Institute of Technology among others. Lipscomb was the only non-AACSB accredited institution on the list and the only undergraduate business program in Nashville included in the ranking.

Poets&Quants for Undergrads compiled the 2021 exclusive rankings based on a representative survey of over 6,100 alumni and school-reported data. Recent grads across the 93 schools were surveyed on aspects of faculty availability, extracurricular opportunities, and accessibility of the alumni network. This data doesn't exist together anywhere else in the world. This national ranking was launched five years ago by Bloomberg/Businessweek and is now administered by Poets&Quants.

“This years' ranking assesses three core values of an undergraduate business education: the quality of the admits, what a school does to grow those students over four years, and finally how the marketplace responds to those graduates,” said Nathan Allen, project manager for Poets&Quants for Undergrads. "In other words, what's the quality of the incoming students, how do they view their academic experience, and what career outcomes are achieved by the graduating class."
