Lipscomb Post Office wins The Golden Stamp of Approval

 |

The College and University Mail Service Association presented The Golden Stamp of Approval Award to Ronnie Farris and the University Post Office of Lipscomb University. The award was presented by the officers of CUMSA in recognition of outstanding innovations or achievements contributing to the successful operations of a member institution.

Each year CUMSA chooses a member institution for its dedication or achievement in the field of university mail service. This year Farris and the Lipscomb Post Office were recognized by fellow member schools for commitment to high standards for the mail service they provide Lipscomb and the surrounding community.

In 2004, Ronnie was selected as president-elect for CUMSA and took office July 1, 2005.

"One of the things I hope to accomplish during this term as president is the addition of individual members and institutions to the CUMSA," said Farris.

The current membership includes individuals and institutions from all of the southeastern states with additional members coming from the northeastern, mid-western and western states.

"Attending the annual conference is like being a part of a large family and attending a family reunion," said Farris. "It is always a wonderful experience when we can get together and learn how we can do our jobs better."

CUMSA is scheduled to hold its March 2006 meeting in Pensacola Beach, Fla. The event is primarily designed for persons who are associated with college and university mail services at varying levels. The conference offers opportunities for continuing education, individual growth learning about cutting-edge technology for the mail industry as well as job enrichment seminars, including direct input and communication from the US Postal Service. CUMSA is associated with NACUMS, the National Association of College and University Mail Services.
