Since the Bison men’s basketball team won the ASUN tournament on March 4 earning its first berth into the NCAA tournament, Lipscomb University has become the focus of an enormous amount of local and national media.

From March 3, the day before the ASUN championship game through March 15, the university has been featured in more than 2,200 articles (online and print), radio interviews and television broadcasts among other traditional media coverage, not including social media channels.

“The media attention has been great for Lipscomb,” said Bison head coach Casey Alexander at the team press conference on Thursday, March 15. “That’s one of the benefits both short-term and long-term that playing in the NCAA tournament does for a school like ours, especially for the first time. You know we’ve been places that we’ve never been before as far as attention goes, national exposure and on CBS for our game playing a program like North Carolina. That’s an unbelievable experience for everything that is Lipscomb.”
