We are no longer accepting audition materials for Fall 2021 and will be posting information for 2022 admissions soon. You should still fill out the School of Music application below to begin the process.

Audition for the School of Music. The applicant will need to follow the School of Music Audition Guidelines for their respective program included below.
***Due to COVID restrictions video submissions will serve as your actual audition, for entry to the program and scholarships. The date you choose on the School of Music application will be a virtual interview via Zoom.***

Every student who desires to be a music major must pass the entry-level audition in their applied area. If a student does not pass their initial audition they may enroll as a provisional music major and take elective lessons for up to one year in an attempt to successfully pass this audition. If a student is unable to pass this audition after one year, they can no longer hold provisional status within the Department.
If you are interested in auditioning for the Sanctuary vocal group, please fill out this application as well.
2021 admission year auditions will be virtual because of COViD-19 restrictions. Please complete the School of Music application / audition and we will contact you regarding scheduling an interview.
The dates for interview are as follows:
- Note that because of COVID restrictions we will do this as a virtual audition. Please send a video of yourself playing your piece(s). If you send a YouTube link please ensure that you set the viewing to "Public" so we can all see it!
We will do a Zoom interview for those that pass the audition process but please be aware that we will make scholarship determinations based on your performance in these videos so put your best foot forward.
School of Music scholarships are merit-based and may often be added to other scholarships, depending on the student’s overall financial aid package.
Current students who are not receiving scholarships, or who wish to apply for scholarship consideration in a different performance area, may contact the coordinator for their performance area to request an audition.
The Lipscomb School of Music is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music. Without an arrangement of release, member schools of NASM are not allowed to accept students on scholarship who have previously accepted scholarships from another member school. Please let us know about any other music scholarships you have had.
