Meet Ashley Arledge, a dedicated graduate student in the School Counseling program at Lipscomb University. Currently a 4th-grade math and science teacher at Coles Ferry Elementary in the Lebanon Special School District, Ashley holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Her decision to pursue a Master's degree in school counseling stems from a deep passion for building meaningful relationships with students, their families, and fellow educators. This new role offers her the opportunity to connect with and support her community in a more profound way than her traditional classroom setting allows.
Ashley's interests are as diverse as her professional pursuits. She enjoys reading, playing strategic board games, exploring the outdoors, solving escape games, watching The Office, and spending quality time with family and friends. These hobbies reflect her strategic thinking and love for problem-solving, traits that are invaluable in her counseling journey.
Her experience in the program has broadened her understanding of essential topics such as collaboration, equity, mental health, counseling theories, ethical decision-making, and college preparation. Ashley expresses her gratitude for the opportunity to expand her knowledge through the IMPACT grant, which has been instrumental in her educational journey. Her faith and dedication to her calling are evident as she prepares to transition into a role where she can make a lasting difference.
