Jeremy Townsend is currently an Assistant Professor in Exercise and Nutrition Science at Lipscomb University. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Harding University where he was a captain of the Bison Football Team. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Central Florida with a research emphasis in resistance training and sport nutrition. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN). Townsend has published a number of research studies and presentations that have focused on sport nutrition, exercise performance, skeletal muscle physiology, and exercise immunology. Townsend enjoys weightlifting and mentoring students interested in various academic and research pursuits.
