Biography

Andrea Pewitt joined the College of Education faculty as the Program Director for the IDEAL program during the summer of 2017 after working for 18 years in a local school district as a classroom teacher and the Supervisor of Special Education services. She received her Doctorate in Education from Lipscomb University in 2018 and holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Arts, and an Education Specialist degree from Austin Peay State University. She has presented to teachers and administrators of all grade levels in the K-12 arena, postsecondary staff and administration, community partners and at state and regional conferences on a variety of topics including college preparation for students with disabilities. Andrea has a strong belief that all students can learn when given the right environment.
