Biography

Jules LeFort has been Lipscomb University’s full-time Reference Librarian since 2021. She graduated with her BA in English from Florida College, her Master’s in Library and Information Science from Louisiana State University, and her MA in English from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. Before coming to Lipscomb, she was a middle school English teacher and worked as a writer for an online news source. 

She has taught Lipscomb Experience, works in the lab for the Lipscomb LIFE program, and teaches dozens of information literacy seminars each semester. She is a member of the Library Services to the Justice Involved Roundtable through ALA and the Sustainable Libraries Initiative.

Her English research interests include Victorian Gothic literature, ecocriticism, and the study of correspondence. Her library science research interests include access for incarcerated peoples and information equity. You can often find her backpacking in a different country, napping with her cat, and trying to talk to trees.
