Biography

Dr. Denney returned to Lipscomb to join the faculty of the School of Physician Assistant Studies as Medical Director and Adjunct Professor of Medicine in 2020. He obtained his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Lipscomb in 1982 and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in 1986. He completed his pediatric internship and residency in the UT Memphis system at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The Med. After completing residency, he was the first pediatric hospitalist at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Denney is a pediatrician at Columbia Pediatric Clinic in Columbia, TN, recently starting his 32nd year in practice. He is on staff at Maury Regional Medical Center where he has served as chief of staff and chair of the Department of Pediatrics.
