Biography
Abbie Burka is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of Interprofessional Education, where she coordinates opportunities for students in the health science programs to collaborate and learn together. Her driving passion is to break down barriers for students and practitioners to effectively work together to improve patient outcomes. She teaches throughout the pharmacy curriculum, including the pharmacotherapy sequence. She has previously practiced as a clinical pharmacy specialist in the surgical intensive care unit at the Nashville VA and maintains board certifications in pharmacotherapy and critical care.
