Lipscomb in Florence

With the mention of the word “Italy,” a flood of sense memories are released: sun kissed landscapes, colorful markets, unforgettable meals, ancient cobblestone roads, breathtaking art, expressive language and generous strangers – even for those who have never set foot there.

This is the alluring culture that our Florence students call home for a semester – a culture that has undeniable romanticism, and has captured the imaginations of many. Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance, contains more art per square mile than any other place on earth. It is inspiring to walk the same cobbled streets as Brunelleschi, Leonardo, Machiavelli, Michelangelo, Galileo and a host of others who helped shape our world and civilization. Spanning the Arno River in the central province of Tuscany, this former capital of Italy provides an ideal location for students of any discipline. While Florence is located almost at the center of the Italian peninsula, all of central Europe is simply hours away.

Program fee includes airfare, a week-long group trip, as well as other group excursions and field trips.

Lipscomb in Florence runs both in the Fall and Spring semesters. Each group consists of approximately 30 students along with Lipscomb faculty and staff members. Students may take 12-18 credit hours from the courses listed below.
