Lauren graduated with a Ph.D. in Theological Studies from Vanderbilt University in May, 2018. She also holds an MTS from Vanderbilt University (2010), an M.A. in English from Abilene Christian University (2006), and a B.A. from Harding University (2004). Broadly speaking, Lauren's scholarship attends to connections between hermeneutic praxis, systematic theology, and material culture in the interest of developing constructive proposals for faith practitioners and theological educators. At Lipscomb, Lauren teaches various undergraduate and graduate courses in Bible and systematic, historical, and contextual theology. She and her husband, Jason, have two children.
