Biography

Katie Watson is a Nashville native who graduated from Lipscomb University with a bachelor of science in nursing in 2007.

She spent her career as a registered nurse working at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and Green Hills Pediatrics. In 2015, Watson graduated from Austin Peay State University with a master of science degree in nursing with a concentration in family practice. She is an American Association of Nurse Practitioners board-certified family nurse practitioner and practices at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Since joining Lipscomb University as a faculty member, she has taught in the clinical, classroom, lab, and online setting. Watson teaches in both the pre-licensure BSN program and the online RN-to-BSN program. She serves as an officer in the Psi Phi Chapter of Sigma Nursing Honor Society. Watson is also involved in the Ignite Program in Health Sciences through Lipscomb Academy. She has a passion for mentoring students and helping them find their calling in nursing.

In her free time, she enjoys being with her husband and three children, going to church, volunteering for various organizations, taking trips to the beach, and playing tennis.
