Biography

Kate Sullivan Watkins is Assistant Professor in the College of Bible and Ministry and teaches Spiritual Disciplines for Christian Living. She is the director of the Lipscomb Initiative for Education (LIFE) and overseas undergraduate and graduate programs at the Tennessee Prison for Women. The LIFE program brings together university faculty, traditional students, and students who reside at the prison for a unique experience of learning.

Watkins holds a bachelor of arts in elementary education, a Master of Divinity, and a Doctor of Ministry in spiritual and missional formation. She is also a certified spiritual director. In 2018, she was designated by Lipscomb University as an "Outstanding Teacher." She and her husband Larry have been married for 28 years and have two adult children and a list of grandchildren that thankfully keeps expanding.
