Biography

William Vantrease serves as an Assistant professor in the Kinesiology Department.  He received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Master’s degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science both from Lipscomb University.  Prior to working full time as a professor, Mr. Vantrease served as a strength and conditioning coach and adjunct professor for Lipscomb University while also working locally as a personal trainer.  Mr. Vantrease is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and United States Weightlifting (USAW). He holds a Level 2 advanced weightlifting certification through USAW and holds his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the NSCA.  Mr. Vantrease has experience as a personal trainer, sport coach, and strength coach. Mr. Vantrease's research is in strength and conditioning and fitness. Mr. Vantrease is a faculty sponsor for the Lipscomb Strength Club and enjoys working with students in all things health and fitness related.

Mr. Vantrease is married to Sarah Vantrease, who played softball for Lipscomb University (Sarah Higgins).  They enjoy competing in Weightlifting (Snatch/Clean and Jerk), making homemade pizzas, and spending time outdoors.
