Biography

John Mark Painter is a multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, producer, engineer, composer, arranger, and session musician. He lives in East Nashville with his wife Fleming McWilliams. Their duo, Fleming and John, formerly signed to Universal Records, released two full-length albums, Delusions of Grandeur (1995), and The Way We Are (1999).

His studio credits include: John Mayer, Kings of Leon, Jewel, Brandi Carlile, Switchfoot, Kings of Leon, Ben Folds, The Indigo Girls, William Shatner, Fleming and John, Butch Walker, Patti Griffin, Spoon, Brendan Benson, Indigo Girls, Leann Womack, Collective Soul, Trail of Dead, Death Cab for Cutie, Casting Crowns, DC Talk, Toby Mac, Kevin Max, Tait, The Newsboys, Casting Crowns, Michael W. Smith, and Steven Curtis Chapman. He has also composed original music for film, including such features as Hoodwinked, Veggie Tales, and Over The Hedge. John Mark Painter is also a writer for EMI Music Publishing. His broad range of experience brings great depth to the program in the areas of instrumental instruction, ensemble performance, production, arranging, composition and more.
