Biography

Dr. Byron W. Lewis is the Vice President for Enrollment Management at Lipscomb University, where he serves as the chief enrollment officer. In this capacity, he oversees both undergraduate and graduate enrollment, as well as student financial services, ensuring a seamless and supportive experience for prospective and current students alike.

Before joining Lipscomb, Byron held several key leadership positions at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas, including Associate Dean and Interim Dean of Admission & Executive Director of Enrollment Services. His extensive experience in both K-12 and higher education spans over two decades, beginning in 2001, and includes roles such as Director of College Counseling at Greater Atlanta Christian and Associate Director of Admission at Freed-Hardeman University.

Byron's professional journey also encompasses successful work in marketing and sales with industry giants like Sony Music, Dell Inc., and May Company, before transitioning to the field of education. He holds a Bachelor and Master degree from Freed-Hardeman University, along with a doctoral degree in educational policy, planning, and leadership from The College of William & Mary in Virginia.

A native of St. Charles, Missouri, Byron is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and dynamic educational environment. He and his wife are proud parents of three children, and together they enjoy being active members of their community.
