Kirby has been an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice with Lipscomb University since 2017. His previous position was the clinical pharmacy services director at Perkins Drugs in Gallatin, Tenn. He maintains Perkins as his practice site where he serves as the site director for the PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program and a preceptor for APPE students. He manages Perkins' diabetes self-management education, diabetes prevention program, and medication synchronization services. Kirby also serves on the legislative and regulatory committee for the Tennessee Pharmacists Association. He teaches pharmacy calculations, compounding and dispensing, and pharmacy practice management and leadership. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Lipscomb University in 2015. He also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Biology from Tennessee Technological University in 2011 and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Health Coaching from Vanderbilt University in 2017. He is also Nationally Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) recognized by the International Consortium of Health and Wellness Coaches.
