Biography

Dr. Jeff Bennie is a 1983 graduate of Lipscomb University ( B.S. Physics). He attended medical school at Washington University St. Louis class of 1987. He completed an anesthesia residency at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. While a resident, he did advanced training in adult and pediatric cardiac anesthesia. He has practiced anesthesia in Nashville since 1991. He currently spends most of his clinical time at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Centennial Medical Center. He was a founding partner of the Anesthesia Medical Group in 1994 and Phymed in 2012. Jeff has been involved in overseas mission hospitals since 1992. He has made over 60 medical mission trips. He currently serves as the medical director for Chikondi Health which operates Blessings Hospital in Malawi and Health Talents international which operates Clinica Ezell in Guatemala. He has also done work in Peru and Haiti. He has assisted in planning and development efforts for works in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Nepal, Panama, Honduras, and Zambia. In 2010 he was awarded the Frist Humanitarian prize by the Hospital Corporation of America. Jeff is married to Jane who accompanies him on their frequent overseas mission trips. They have four adult children Rebecca (LU BS 2011, MHA 2021), Blake (LU Pharm D 2018), Natalie, and Ian.
