Lipscomb in Vienna

Whether you are a history buff, a music aficionado, an art lover, an outdoors' enthusiast or a culinary delights connoisseur, Vienna has something for you.

The city boasts an astonishing quantity of monuments, palaces, parks, and museums, which house an impressive array of art and artifacts from all over the world.

Vienna's well-established status as an international metropolis with a global reputation is well-deserved. Even with a permanent seat on the United Nations, Vienna is a compact city and most of the sights are contained within a small central area. Students will live on a quaint street between the city's spacious squares and Baroque mansions. Within one short week, students will become pros at navigating the city's concise maze of subway and streetcar networks to get where they want to go in their new home.

I studied abroad in Vienna, Austria in Spring of 2020! Going into study abroad, I only knew one other person going on the trip. However, after just a few days in Vienna, I gained two of my best friends. Vienna offers so many amazing things. Through studying abroad, I became more independent and discovered how to better manage my time. During abroad, we would complete all of our homework before the weekend so that we could just enjoy traveling. That schedule has continued now that I am back on-campus, and my time management skills have greatly improved. Vienna is such an amazing city to live in! The public transportation is the most convenient and easy to use system I have ever experienced with an underground systems (called the U-bahn) located just a 2-minute walk from the housing location. Vienna is also an extremely central location to the rest of Europe. You can be in so many other countries within just a few hours with a Eurail pass that is included in your program fee! I would encourage anyone to study abroad if they get the opportunity because it is such a great way to experience different cultures, meet new friends, and travel around your location while having the amazing support of the Global Learning faculty.
