Give to Lipscomb

Philanthropy is a natural extension of Lipscomb’s core values. It is a form of service, a selfless contribution for the benefit of others. Philanthropy helps to build community and forge ties between donors and recipients. It encourages the extension of knowledge and hastens the pursuit of innovation.

You can choose to support student scholarships, special initiatives, a particular academic program or our Bisons. Or, for that matter, feel free to contribute to all of them.

The Lipscomb Fund

As much as we’d like it to, tuition does not cover all of our costs. Contributions to the Lipscomb Fund, in many ways, keep Lipscomb running. These gifts help us maintain essential programs such as scholarships and student services—the library, our Academic Success Center and career development—and they support initiatives that will extend Lipscomb’s reach and reputation.

Colleges and Institutes

Gifts to specific academic programs allow us to continue providing the high-quality, high-touch education for which Lipscomb is known. These contributions often supply the only discretionary funds available to deans, department heads and coaches for responding to opportunities and supporting growth in their respective areas.

Lipscomb Academy

Our intention to elevate Lipscomb encompasses the Academy as well. Contributions to the school help us increase diversity, strengthen academics offerings, support athletic programs and make much-needed facility updates.

As our Division I sports teams play their hearts out, giving us a reason to rally together as a community, they also incur significant expenses for equipment, travel, and training. One of our goals is to fully fund the athletics program.

Annual Giving

In making a gift to Lipscomb University’s annual fund, you make a commitment to our students and enhance the quality of the Christian education we are able to provide them.

In many cases, your annual fund dollars provide educational opportunities for students that tuition does not. Through the dedication of alumni, supporters and friends, our students are able to tap into resources that go a long way in helping them reach their goals. There are many options you can choose to benefit students, faculty or specific programs that allow you to match your interests and priorities with your desire to support Lipscomb University and to make a difference for students today and into the future.

Make your gift today and join the thousands of alumni, supporters and friends who give each year to support the Lipscomb University community.

Endowed Giving

Supporting the endowment fund at Lipscomb University has a profound and lasting impact in the lives of students, faculty and staff.

Supporting the endowment fund makes Lipscomb accessible for hundreds of students each year, opening the door to a great education and to lives that will be shaped by the experiences that result. Endowment fund investments help to create those experiences by providing the faculty, programs and other resources that affect every student as we work to fulfill our core purpose: to educate students in a setting of academic rigor infused with Christian faith formation and service.

Your investment in the endowment fund gives Lipscomb a solid, sustainable financial base that allows us to imagine and plan for the future while meeting students’ needs today. We simply could not serve students nor prepare them for the future that awaits without the Lipscomb family of endowment investors.

Join those who are lighting the path so students can continue to benefit from the lasting value of studying at one of the nation’s leading Christian universities.

Philanthropic Societies

When you make a gift to Lipscomb University, we think of you as an "investor" in the lives of students because your impact and influence go far beyond the moment of making a gift. When you invest by giving at a qualifying level or frequency, we are pleased to honor you in one of our prestigious recognition societies.

Lipscomb Associates

Lipscomb Associates commit to annual contributions of $1,000 or more, providing the long-term, immediate-impact giving that creates the high-quality, high-touch Christian education experience that is Lipscomb. Associates allow us to expand our academic programs, the diversity of our student body, scholarships and the services and resources we offer, on campus and off. By funding strategic plans and new initiatives, Associates help us move toward the future with a wider reach, greater impact in the lives of students and community and an ascending reputation. Also, Associates automatically gain access to Lipscomb's prestigious IMAGINE event each year.

G.O.L.D  (Graduates of the Last Decade) Associates

The G.O.L.D. Associates program is offered exclusively to those who recently earned their undergraduate degrees and want to support the university as donors who make things happen in a special way. As described above, donors in the traditional Lipscomb Associates program are the university’s core partners for increasing scholarships, launching special initiatives and enhancing the academic experience at Lipscomb. The G.O.L.D. Associates program allows alumni who are building their careers to engage with the university toward similar outcomes but with contributions of $100 for each year since graduation. For example, if you graduated last year, you would qualify with a $100 contribution. If you graduated five years ago, you would qualify with a $500 contribution. G.O.L.D. Associates also qualify automatically to attend Lipscomb's prestigious IMAGINE event each year.

Associated Women for Lipscomb

The Associated Women for Lipscomb formed in 1982, when then-university President Willard Collins hosted a luncheon for 20 women and challenged them to form an organization to advance excellence in education at Lipscomb. And so they did—now AWL members across the country raise scholarship funds for those who will enliven our campus and diversify our community.

Faculty and Staff

If you want to know how focused Lipscomb employees are to the future of your student, here is one great measure: Not only do our faculty and staff make Lipscomb the great university it is, they also provide substantial financial support through the annual Family Campaign. Ninety-six percent of teachers, administrators and other staff contributed more than $243,000 to the 2018-19 Family Campaign. Employees, showing your commitment to the value of a Lipscomb education is as simple as completing a payroll deduction form. If you have any questions about the Family Campaign, please contact Bethany Perala at, 800.333.4358, x. 5260 (toll-free), or 615.966.5260.
