Commencement

• GN999X is a mandatory, zero-credit Canvas course required for all undergraduate degree-seeking students during the term they complete their degree requirements. Registration in GN999X serves as the official operational signal for the Registrar's Office to begin the process of degree conferral.  Students must enroll even if they do not plan to participate in a commencement ceremony.
• The Intent to Graduate form has been updated and will be an assignment within Canvas for students registered for GN999X.
• Students must register for GN999X no later than the first week of their final semester.
• The Canvas course acts as the central hub where students file their Intent to Graduate (ITG) form, order regalia, and receive commencement updates.

Students will be able to order their cap and gown from Jostens during the ordering windows listed below depending on their intended ceremony of participation.

May Commencement: 1st Day of the Spring Semester through January 31st

December Commencement: 1st Day of the Fall Semester through September 15th

Instructions for ordering a cap and gown from Jostens will be available to students in the Canvas course linked with GN999X.

Undergraduates will pick up their cap & gown at the Senior Send Off (refer to the GN999X Canvas course for specific event information).

Masters and Doctoral regalia will be distributed through their respective departments. Please reach out to your department for additional information.

The regalia you receive is included in your tuition, so it is yours to keep!

May 1, 2027 Commencement Ceremony

Tickets will be required for the undergraduate ceremony May 1, 2027.

For May 1, 2027, each graduating student will receive a maximum of 6 tickets to commencement. Tickets will be available to be downloaded from the Lipscomb University Box Office on April 1, 2027. Graduating students will be notified via email once tickets are available. Each student will receive their tickets as a QR code to the email address provided.

If you require more than six tickets, we encourage you to connect with fellow graduating students who may not be utilizing their full allotment. Tickets are fully transferable; however, the University does not facilitate these exchanges and strictly prohibits the sale of commencement tickets.

Students who apply for Commencement after the published deadline may receive fewer tickets, depending on availability.

All guests must have a ticket to attend the ceremony. However, children who will be seated on an adult's lap for the entirety of the event do not require a ticket. Doors will open at Allen Arena 90 minutes before the ceremony. .

Family and friends unable to attend in person are encouraged to watch the ceremony live at lipscomb.edu/live or may view the live stream in Collins Auditorium.

If you have any additional questions, please email provostoffice [at] lipscomb.edu (provostoffice[at]lipscomb[dot]edu).

You can tune in to the live stream on your computer or mobile device.

The commencement ceremonies usually last around 2 hours.

There is a parking garage behind (east of) Allen Arena with direct access to the arena. The Gold level of the garage will be reserved for handicapped parking. If the garage fills up, there are other lots around campus that will be available for overflow parking.

There is accessible seating on the top (gold) level of Allen Arena.  ADA accessible parking is available anywhere in the attached Allen Arena garage and each level has elevator access to get to the Gold level.
