The annual Nurture conference features nationally recognized leaders in spiritual formation in a free 2-day event featuring keynote addresses, workshops, and a luncheon.  Previous speakers include Chris Webb, president of Renovare, and John Ortberg, minister at Menlo Park and author of several books, including The Me I Want To Be.

For 2012, ICS is delighted to have Glandion Carney and Gary Moon as our featured presenters.

Glandion Carney provides leadership training and counseling in areas of pastoral care, prayer, and spiritual formation at St. Peter’s Anglican church in Birmingham, AL. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Glandion has worked for a number of para-church organizations and ministries such as World Vision, Intervarsity, Youth for Christ and Wycliffe Bible Translators. He was the founding pastor of CentrePointe church in Grand Rapids, Michigan for 10 years. He also worked with attorneys as a chaplain for the Christian Legal Society. Carney has authored six books, and he currently serves on the board of Renovare.

Glandion and his wife Marion have four adult children and eight grandchildren.


Gary MoonGary W. Moon(Ph.D., Fuller Theological Seminary) is director of the Martin Family Institute and Dallas Willard Center for Spiritual Formation at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California. He is also distinguished professor of psychology and Christian spirituality at Richmont College. He is the editor-in-chief for the journal Conversations and the director of the Renovaré International Institute for Christian Spiritual Formation. He is co-editor of Spiritual Direction and the Care of Souls (IVP) and author of Apprenticeship with Jesus (Baker).

Married to Regina Reynolds Moon, Gary has two daughters, Jessica Erin and Jenna Rebeccah.
