Biography

Robert Tunney received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy (Pittsburgh, PA) in 2013. Since graduation, Dr. Tunney has completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and a PGY-2 Cardiology Specialty Residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Tunney holds dual pharmacy specialty board certifications in both pharmacotherapy and cardiology, in addition to being a Certified Anticoagulation Care Provider (CACP). Prior to his arrival at Lipscomb, Dr. Tunney worked with an interdisciplinary medical team of cardiologists at Vanderbilt University Medical Center as a mechanical cardiac support clinical pharmacist and served as the PGY-2 Cardiology Residency Program Director. Dr. Tunney's research interests include anticoagulation strategies in mechanical cardiac support, right-sided heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and hemodynamics.
