Here’s what makes Lipscomb different.
Chances are you’re looking at a lot of great schools like Lipscomb. But, in a nutshell, why would you choose us? Well, here’s the nutshell: we’re not like anyone else, and we don’t want you to be either. A Lipscomb education nurtures your academic, spiritual, social, and professional sides. Our goal is to help you grow into your whole self, so you can become the person God calls you to be. So here’s our “so what?” …our 4Cs.
They might take place in a cutting-edge robotics lab or a remote Guatemalan village, in the offices of a Fortune 500 company or in the halls of the library—learning at Lipscomb happens just about anywhere (including thousands of miles from here!). We want our students to get first-hand experience, real-life practice, and up-close-and personal knowledge, so they’re equipped for wherever God leads.
The minute you step onto the Lipscomb campus, you’ll feel it. There’s a sense of forward momentum and deep camaraderie in everything we do. From cheering on our Division I Bisons to declaring our faith in regular worship, we are, first and foremost, a community. You’ll never be bored, and you’ll never be lonely at Lipscomb.
We may as well say it: our campus looks like something out of a movie. It is, in a word, beautiful. Some other words that come to mind are easy to navigate, peaceful … welcoming. It’s also growing by leaps and bounds, lively as all get-out, and only a couple of miles from downtown Nashville. You’ll have 65 acres of historic edifices, lush greenery, and state-of-the art facilities to call your home, as well as quick access to everything Music City has to offer (which is an awful lot).
And lastly, we list Christ, because Christ is the foundation of all else here. Lipscomb values its legacy in the Church of Christ that emphasizes a personal interaction with Scripture. So since 1891, there has not been a day of classes in which the Bible was not taught. We believe that through an investigation of the Word, we find fulfilling paths to live our beliefs and deepen our relationship with God. From our founding almost 125 years ago to today, Lipscomb’s emphasis on spiritual formation to build an intentional, courageous and gracious Christian life has been key. We open our doors (and our arms) to anyone who wants to explore and enrich their faith.
