Verification

Verification is a process by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to check the accuracy of the information provided on a student’s FAFSA. Every year, a number of random applicants will be required to complete this step. If selected, you’ll need to provide additional documentation to support the information you submitted on your FAFSA. This step must be completed in order to finalize your financial aid.

Lipscomb University partners with a 3rd party company, KHEAA, to complete this verification process. You will hear directly from them on what income and tax documents are needed and how to send it to them.

If you have been selected for an identification-only verification, you can come to the Financial Aid office in the Crisman Administration Building with your unexpired valid government-issued photo ID and fill out a Statement of Education Purpose. This will satisfy the verification requirement.
