Each year, Lipscomb welcomes the holiday season with a little help from Nashville singer-songwriter, Amy Grant, as well as an all-star line-up of artists at the annual Lighting of the Green concert. The concert will be held Tuesday, November 29, at Lipscomb University.

Joining Grant in this year’s slate of artists are:

  • Cody Fry
  • Dave's Highway
  • Jon and Valerie Guerra
  • Choirs from Lipscomb Academy and University

Festivities including free photos with Santa and Mrs. Clause, the Merry Marketplace, a collection of holiday venders who donate a portion of their proceeds to benefit scholarships to Lipscomb, etc. will begin at 4 p.m. The FREE holiday concert begins at 5:15 p.m. in the Allen Arena mall on Lipscomb’s campus.

Food is also available for purchase at the Bennett Campus Center’s Bison Café, Chick-Fil-A, Papa John’s Pizza, Blue Coast Burrito and Starbucks and in the Student Activities Center’s Au Bon Pain bakery and sandwich shop.

The evening will conclude with the lighting of a Christmas tree in the Allen Arena Mall.

Lighting of the Green benefits Second Harvest Food Bank - attendees are encouraged to bring canned food or cash donations to the event to donate to Second Harvest. Every dollar donated provides four meals. Donations will be accepted at the Second Harvest booth located in Merry Marketplace Allen Arena lobby.

Sponsors for this year’s event include C.O. Christian & Sons Inc., Ronald Blue & Co., American Paper & Twine, The ARTZ App and Arthur J. Gallagher & Company.

Guests are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to the concert. Handicapped parking will be available in the Allen Arena parking garage. The event will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, activities will take place as scheduled inside Lipscomb’s Allen Arena.
