Lipscomb University
Honors College

The Honors College at Lipscomb University seeks to provide students with a significant enhancement to their university education through a challenging academic program, through cultural and entertainment opportunities, and through planning and mentoring for the future. Courses within the program offer more student participation, a deeper exploration of key ideas, and an opportunity for students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills. In addition to a strong academic challenge, students in The Honors College explore different cultural ideas and events by attending Broadway plays which come to Nashville, foreign films, and ethnic dining experiences.  We sponsor a Masquerade Ball each year and have several other social functions designed to strengthen the friendships established in classes with other honors students.  Finally all students receive mentoring in planning their careers at Lipscomb University and beyond, including information and advice on major national competitive scholarships like the U. S. Fulbright Scholar, he Goldwater Scholarship, and the Truman Scholarship and on appropriate study abroad and internship possibilities. The program seeks students who have a lot of ambition, who are creative, and who are willing to take some risks to create an outstanding educational experience at Lipscomb University. You can see all of the specific requirements for The Honors College by examining the student handbook.
