The institution was founded in 1891 first as the Nashville Bible School, to later be known as Lipscomb University.

Lipscomb University was founded in the tradition of the Churches of Christ to prepare students with wisdom and knowledge to serve their community and the world.

Lipscomb’s residential campus is located in the Green Hills area of Nashville. There are also four off-campus program opportunities (Downtown Nashville, Murfreesboro, Cool Springs, Sumner County).
