Tennessee Women in Green – November Meeting
November 3, 7:30-9am
At the November meeting for TWIG (Tennessee Women in Green), women engaged in the work of sustainability heard about “Nashville’s Long-term Zero Waste Master Plan” from Sharon Smith, Assistant Director of Metro Nashville Public Works. Sharon talked about Metro’s work with conducting and studying waste characterization, determining the scope of services to effectively manage future waste and recycling programs, and exploring different areas of public engagement for waste diversion. Many members were excited and vocal about the topic of zero-waste, recognizing it as an important and hopefully promising area for sustainable improvement in Nashville.
