Postal Services
The Connection is a full-service post office under the existing guidelines of the United States Postal Service.
True to its name, there are several ways it connects you: UPS and FedEx services, a color copy machine, passport photos, notary public and self-service mailing options. Of course, this is also where you'll get your mail. Look for the rows of mailboxes on the bottom level of Bennett Campus Center, and you're there.

Campus Mail, Arrival Times & Services
Campus Mail & Arrival Times
Student mailboxes are located adjacent to The Connection. Box assignments are made by The Connection. Mail should not be addressed to dormitories or office buildings, but should be addressed to a student with box number or directly to a faculty member then dropped in a campus mail slot. We try to have all the off-campus mail in the mailboxes by around 10:30 a.m. each day. Depending on the volume of mail we receive, it could be later. UPS generally arrives between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m., FedEx between 10 and 11:30 a.m. and FedEx Ground between 1 and 2 p.m.

Mail Forwarding
How to Forward Your Mail
You can forward your mail if your current change of address form is on file. This allows mail to be forwarded for up to one year.
If you are living off campus or will be gone over the summer, and you would like to receive mail, you will need to put a forwarding order on file.
What happens to my mail during breaks such as summer and Christmas when I'm not in school?
During the extended holidays, like Christmas, you may wish to file a change of address for your First Class mail only. We will be happy to forward this to you. We will not send newspapers or magazines. If we did send these, you must pay the forwarding charges for these items, plus your subscription might be canceled or changed unnecessarily. Some parcels are able to be forwarded and we will send these on to you at no additional charge.
Help us help to serve you better by supplying a correct address while you are not enrolled in classes.
A forwarding order must be placed each summer and after you graduate if you would like to continue to receive mail (via USPS) for up to a year. UPS and FedEx parcels cannot be forwarded, therefore will be returned to sender.

Correct Addresses and More
Correct Addresses and More
Specific office/department return address on all university and campus school mail is necessary where applicable. Mail should not be addressed to dormitories or office buildings.
If a department is sending a mass mailing, please place it at the mail box and inform The Connection so that it may be collected.
Please use the following address example to send mail to someone on campus:
Proper Name (first and last, no nicknames)
LU _____(Your Box #)
1 University Park Drive
Nashville, TN 37204-3951
Refrain from using a P.O. Box in the address or the mail piece may be delayed in its delivery. If box number is unknown, please leave blank and the box number will be supplied upon receipt.
For UPS deliveries please do not place box number in the address line. The box number may be placed in the lower left hand corner of the package, if desired. If someone is sending you a UPS parcel, do not list the LU number like the address above. The LU number should be located in the lower left-hand corner. UPS reads street addresses only, not a box number.
FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you take credit cards, check cards, or Bison Express for purchases?
Yes, the only forms of payment include MasterCard, Visa, cash, and personal check. Also, the 24-hour self-service Postal Kiosk will accept debit or credit cards. However, money orders may be purchased with cash, MasterCard, and Visa only. The fee is $1.20 up to $500 and $1.60 for $500.01- $999.99.
Where do I get my Student Payroll check?
Your student payroll check will be available in your campus mailbox on a bi-weekly basis. The checks are distributed to the mailboxes on Friday between noon and 3:00 p.m. If you live off campus, your check will be mailed to your address.
How will I know if I have received a package if it is too big for my mailbox?
You will receive and email notice alerting you when a parcel or package arrives. Please bring your Lipscomb ID in order to receive the package. Do not bring the printed email message to claim your package.
What if I wish to purchase stamps after hours?
The automated Postal Kiosk is capable of providing postage 24-hours a day, seven days a week. The kiosk is located in The Connection's lobby.
May I send packages from The Connection?
Yes! We offer all the package services you will need in order to mail your package. We will help you select the best way for sending your items. We can assist you with some packaging needs, if you prefer.
Will I have a different mailbox each year?
No, as long as you continually reside on campus, you will keep the same mailbox number. When you move off campus, the mailbox is canceled and mail must be forwarded to your off campus location. Please submit an address change either at The Connection or on myLipscomb.
What if I move back on campus? Will I get my old mailbox number back?
Should you move back on campus, come by the service counter at The Connection. We will check to see if your former mailbox is currently occupied by another person. If the mailbox is unoccupied, we will be glad to re-issue the box to you. If it is currently occupied, we will assign a new mailbox number to you.
I am a day student. May I receive mail on campus?
Day students are not allowed to have boxes on campus. All of your stamped mail should be addressed to your current residency address. All stamped mail addressed to the university's address for a day student will be sent to the forwarding address on file. If no forwarding address is on file, the mail is returned to sender. Campus mail addressed to a day student will be returned to the sender.
