Gerald (Jerry) Mayberry obtained the BSW in the Lipscomb University class of 2013. Upon graduation, he began his career at the Skyline Medical Center Madison Campus and states, "Yes, it is social work related!" As a Mental Health Counselor, Jerry facilitates mental health groups, one-on-one counseling and assessments. He has now been accepted into the Summer, 2014 University of Tennessee Graduate MSSW Advanced Standing program; the concentration will be Evidenced-based Interpersonal Practice.

Regarding the Lipscomb University BSW program, Jerry says, "The Lipscomb Social Work program prepared me for my current employment and for my acceptance into the Masters Social Program. The Lipscomb Social Work faculty and staff gave excellent support to me and my fellow students... A very positive educational experience."

When asked to give advice to social work students, he replied, "Study hard and practice the skills you have learned. Don't be afraid to help the disadvantaged. Prepare for your future and pursue your Masters in Social Work."
