Blake Anderton, Ph.D.

Optical Scientist, Raytheon, Huntsville, AL

After earning dual BS degrees in physics and mechanical engineering from Lipscomb, Blake earned an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama, Huntsville and then went on to complete a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona.

Today, Blake lives in Huntsville, AL with his wife Jan and their two kids where he works as an optical scientist with Raytheon. Blake leads a cross-business research team specializing in drone-swarm artificial intelligence, computational optics, statistical learning and laser technologies (radar & directed energy).

In Blake's own words, "physics provides a basis of concept templates to help obtain an understanding in almost any field."

Chris Brosey, Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics

MD Anderson Cancer Center

Chris graduated from Lipscomb with degrees in Physics and Biology and went on to pursue a Ph.D. in molecular biology at Vanderbilt University. She now works as a structural biologist at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center on the biochemistry of DNA processing. Her current research focuses on understanding metabolic regulation of mitochondrial apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) in response to oxidative and nitrosative DNA damage.
