Greetings from the Lipscomb University School of Nursing

Words seem inadequate to express the admiration and gratitude that I feel toward all of our LUSON faculty and staff, students and alumni. Our faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to create and maintain a nourishing environment where our students can learn, grow, and wrestle with the hard stuff, in spite of the uncertainty in our world today.

It invigorates me and gives me hope to know that God is still calling people to the profession of nursing; that our students are brave enough to face their fears and answer that call; and that our alumni have remained committed, compassionate and resilient through, perhaps, the most devastating health care crisis of our generation.

YOU, our Lipscomb School of Nursing alumni and students, are often recognized not only for your incredible skill, but also for your humble confidence, for the tenderness with which you care, and for consistently going beyond the call of duty. Alumni like Hannah Martin (’19) and Maci Malone (‘17) embody the spirit of a Lipscomb nurse, both recently receiving Daisy awards for their unparalleled compassionate care (Learn more here).

As I often say, God does not call the equipped.  He equips the called.

Thank YOU for answering the call.

In Christ,

Dr. Chelsia Harris, DNP, RN, FNP-BC
Executive Director, School of Nursing
