For the fifth year in a row, Lipscomb University will host one of the largest career fairs in Middle Tennessee.    NewsChannel 5’s Safe and Sound Career Expo will take place in Allen Arena at 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The event, sponsored by News Channel 5, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and Lipscomb, draws hundreds of job hunters each year for face-to-face interaction with some of the largest companies in the city.

“Generally we have around 50-75 employers and 1,500-2,000 job seekers,” said Monica Wentworth, director of Lipscomb’s Career Development Center, which works with NewsChannel 5 to coordinate the event.

The Career Expo offers opportunities for networking, career education and a career fair.

This year, more than 65 employers will be participating, including Dell, Mapco, Polo Ralph Lauren, CVS and many others. Click here for a complete list of employers expected to participate in the Career Expo.

“In the ‘apply online’ application method in today’s world, it can be challenging to be memorable or to have direct contact” said Wentworth. “Career fairs allow employers to make connections and put a face with a name.”
