University bookstore renovation to be completed during winter break

When students return from the winter break, they will find that the university bookstore has received a facelift.

Remodeling began the first week of December on the facility to complete renovation that began in the summer when the bookstore relocated to the lower level of Bennett Campus Center.

“This construction is Phase Two of the renovation project,” said Wolcott Fary, general manager of Lipscomb Dining Service –Sodexo, which operates the bookstore. “After we are finished the Lipscomb community will notice a brighter, warmer facility that is more functional and user-friendly.”

The bookstore has temporarily relocated to the Uncle Dave’s location on the main floor of the campus center. Book buybacks stations will be located in residence hall lobbies and the lobby of the campus center.

“Hopefully this will be even more convenient for students since we will be in their dorms buying back their books. It will save them a trip to the campus center with their books,” said Sarah Case, bookstore manager.

The bookstore is scheduled to reopen in its permanent location in the lower level of Bennett Campus Center on Jan. 3.

This summer, the bookstore relocated to the lower level of the campus center and Sodexo partnered with the university to manage the operation. In addition to the renovation, bookstore officials moved to an online textbook ordering process.
