Lipscomb University's School of Music presents its Chamber Singers and Chamber Orchestra who will perform Handel’s Dixit Dominus, on Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Ward Hall.
The performance will be conducted by Steve Rhodes, director of instrumental studies. This Baroque masterpiece was completed in 1707 and is Handel’s earliest surviving autograph. Before the performance Richard Hughes, scholar-in-residence in the College of Bible & Ministry, will discuss the text from Psalms 110 and Gary Wilson, director of choral studies, will share thoughts about the musical aspects of the piece.
