Special Olympics State Basketball Tournament

Special Olympics State Basketball Tournament is in the past.

Lipscomb Athletics will host the Special Olympics State Basketball tournament, which this year will be held in Allen Arena on Friday and Saturday, March 10 and 11.

The opening ceremonies will begin at 2:30 p.m. with games beginning at 3:30 p.m. and lasting until 9 p.m. on Friday, March 10. The games will resume on Saturday, March 11 at 8:30 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Special Olympics Basketball continues to grow as a sport of Tennessee. Over 100 teams compete each year in either a local, regional or state competition. All three state sanctioned events are played as 5v5 full court games, however, some local programs may offer other formats such as 3v3 or a skills competition. Any athletes interested in joining a team should first contact their area director.
