Lipscomb University's Beaman Library will hold a talk, reception and book-signing for local minister/author Josh Graves at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the library. Graves' latest book Heaven on Earth: Realizing the Good Life Now will be on sale at the event.
Graves is the preaching and teaching minister for the Otter Creek Church of Christ in Nashville. His previous book, published by Leafwood in 2009 is The Feast; How to Serve Jesus in a Famished World. He completed a doctorate degree from Columbia Seminary, where he studied the relationship of postmodernism and Christianity, and he teaches as an adjunct in the doctorate of ministry program at Lipscomb.
You can read his writing on matters of faith, culture, and ethics at Fox Newsd (OpEd online), Missio Dei, The Contributor and the Christian Standard.
“Heaven on Earth helps us get past the idea that Christians are living for
something that will be real after we die. I suggest we consider replacing ‘Are we ready
to die?’ with ‘Are you ready to live?’”
