Located in Nashville, the nation’s health care capital, students within the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences are working individually and collaboratively with the nation’s most prestigious health care professionals. And they are being exposed to topline training through the college’s interdisciplinary program curriculum and experiential learning opportunities.

Every Lipscomb student pharmacist walks off campus with not only a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, but also a full range of experiences spanning the health care field. In the College of Pharmacy, students participate in diverse experiences in a number of nationally recognized health care facilities aimed at showing students the very best of pharmacy practice. Students also put their knowledge into practice from serving those with limited access to care to stretching their horizons even further by completing a dual degree with an optional study abroad practice experience in Florence, Italy or Malawi, Africa. Whether its dispensing medications in a retail pharmacy or working alongside physicians in an interprofessional team, Lipscomb provides a valuable, broad educational program for students to engage in opportunities across the spectrum of pharmacy practice.
The application deadline has been extended to June 1 for Fall 2018 admission. Applicants who have not taken the PCAT exam may submit the GRE, MCAT, OAT or DAT instead. Learn more here.
At Lipscomb, students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and earn the skills necessary to flourish in one of the most in-demand professions in health care today. The School of Nursing is committed to transforming each student into a compassionate caregiver, a strong patient advocate and a leader who brings a crucial patient-focused perspective to the health care team.

Physician assistants are in high demand in the health care industry, and the field is projected to grow 30 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. Lipscomb plans to launch after receipt of accreditation its School of Physician Assistant Studies, the second program in Middle Tennessee, where students can earn a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. The fitness and wellness industry has exploded as the connections between them have become clearer. Strong job opportunities are available for those interested in enhancing others’ health and human performance. Students can choose from an undergraduate degree in exercise science, fitness and sport studies, health and physical education teaching (k-12) and sports management. Each bachelor’s degree path will equip students to enter a graduate or professional program as well as a range of opportunities varying from cardiac rehabilitation to wellness coaching to working with professional sports teams. Lipscomb’s accredited dietetics program prepares students for a wealth of roles in health care and society, ranging from medical nutrition therapy to sports nutrition to the culinary arts and nutrition program. Here, students can earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Food Systems Management, and of our nutrition graduates, 80 percent are accepted into dietetic internship programs for becoming Registered Dietitians, a rate nearly double the national average. As the role of technology becomes more prevalent in health care, the Master of Science in Health Care Informatics curriculum teaches students to recognize and maximize the relationships between business practice, patient health and information technology.
