New Bison Talk podcast launches today with first episode

University Communication & Marketing |

The Lipscomb University community has a new way to learn about what’s happening on campus as well as hearing from its experts as it launches its Bison Talk podcast.

Bison Talk_350Produced by the Office of University Communication & Marketing, Bison Talk takes a deep dive into today’s current news and events with some of the Lipscomb University community’s most interesting people. The first Bison Talk episode “The Eclipse is Coming!,” featuring Lipscomb University physics professor Alan Bradshaw, was released Thursday, Aug. 17.

“We have a campus filled with faculty and staff who are experts on numerous topics and can provide insight and context to what is happening in the world around us. We also have students who have incredible stories and experiences that we believe our audiences will want to hear,” said Kim Chaudoin, assistant vice president of University Communication & Marketing.

“We believe a podcast is a good supplement to the other channels through which we communicate with our alumni, students, employees, parents and the community and will allow us to dig deeper into topics and to highlight the stories and expertise that exist here.”

Bison Talk episodes will be released each Thursday. Upcoming episodes will feature Beki Baker, chair of the theatre department talking about the upcoming season; Chris Gonzalez, director of the graduate program in marriage and family therapy, discussing how freshman — and their parents — can make a smooth transition into college life; and Andrea Mills, assistant director of the counseling center, sharing her expertise as National Suicide Prevention Month approaches in September.

Listeners can subscribe to Bison Talk at www.lipscomb.edu/news/podcasts. Bison Talk will also be available on iTunes, Google Play and Stitcher in the next few days.
