DVL Seigenthaler CEO Ronald Roberts featured at Jan. 29 Media Masters

Throughout the academic school year, Lipscomb University’s Department of Communication and Journalism hosts Media Masters, an event that features highly accomplished and respected professionals within the fields of communication and journalism.

Ronald Roberts_300On Jan. 29, Ronald Roberts, managing partner and chief executive officer of DVL Seigenthaler was the featured Media Masters guest.

During his hour-long conversation, Roberts spoke on the need for diversity in the workforce, ways to listen effectively and how he came to be the CEO of DVL Seigenthaler.

“Diversity and relationships have the ability to knit everyone together,” Roberts said, speaking on the importance of diversity in the professional and public relations world.

Later in the conversation he emphasized the importance of listening. “Listening is an underrated skill,” he added. “If you only hear one thing from me tonight it would be to listen.”

Roberts oversees the day-to-day management of the agency and directs the firm’s short-and-long-range plans. He is certified by the Institute for Crisis Management and has participated in extensive crisis management for clients throughout the country. In addition, Roberts has managed corporate communications, media relations, message strategy and development, event management and executive image management for many of DVL Seigenthaler’s clients and is currently leading its media and message training practice group.

Roberts_300BRoberts is a member of several local organizations that include the board of directors for 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, Nashville Downtown Rotary Club, Nashville Sports Council, the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville and Citizens Bank & Trust. Roberts also serves as the co-chair of the Mayor’s Council on Gender Equity.
