Lipscomb University has been named the 13th best Christian university in the nation.

Lipscomb University is one of 50 Christian universities across the country recognized by Christian Universities Online in its “50 Best Christian Colleges in the U.S. 2014” list. Lipscomb ranked above institutions such as Samford University, Wheaton College, George Fox University, Seattle Pacific University, Biola University, John Brown University and Taylor University. Lipscomb was the only university in Middle Tennessee and one of only two in the state to be included in the ranking.

Institutions that are accredited by the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools or are a Council of Christian Colleges and Universities member or affiliate were eligible for the ranking. The ranking considered which colleges offered the highest degree of personal attention (student-to-faculty ratio), selectivity (acceptance rate), financial assistance (percent of students receiving financial aid) and student satisfaction (retention and graduation rates).

This is the latest honor for Lipscomb University. Earlier this month, Lipscomb was one of only 294 universities across the nation named as a College of Distinction for the 2014-2015 school year. The Colleges of Distinction designation is given to select schools to honor their excellence in student-focused higher education.
